The Dollhouse Family

The Dollhouse Family is a new miniseries by horror writer M. R. Carey. The creative team behind the comics include Peter Gross and Vince Locke. Despite its short running time, it packs in plenty of plot. The first episode features a Lovecraftian entity that falls to Earth, followed by a flashback to Alice’s ancestors’ encounter with a demonic woman in a cave.

The second chapter follows the adventures of Alice, whose great-unt sends her an antique dollhouse complete with a family of antique dolls. As young Alice explores the house, she meets a host of new friends. Her life becomes more complicated, as she tries to make sense of the doll family’s lives. Thankfully, she’s able to shrink down to match the dollhouse family, whose lives become much more complex than Alice could have ever imagined.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSB), children should be at least three years old to play with a dollhouse. But, while some children play with dollhouses into their early teens, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) states that dollhouses are generally not dangerous. However, children should be supervised while playing with their dollhouse, so it’s best to supervise them.
